Elizabeth CLAYTON (1770/3 Charlotte Co, VA - 1830 JeffCo, Al) MARRIAGE: 22 AUG 1789, Surry Co., Virginia

The last known residence of Elizabeth, wife of Major LOGGINS, was in Jefferson Co. AL. The 1830 Census, p. 171, showed "Majors LOGGIN" age 60-70, his wife age 50-60; a son [Charles] and some daughters still with them. Son John C LOGGINS was in his own household a few pages away. John C and Charles LOGGINS were household heads there in the 1840 Census.

The husband of Elizabeth Clayton, daughter of Brittain Clayton, is unknown. She is NOT the Elizabeth who married Major Loggins.

Elizabeth Clayton 1772-1830, daughter of (Brittain's brother) Charles Clayton 1738-1800 and Nancy Ann Love, married Major Loggins on 22 Aug 1789, Surry County, North Carolina. Her uncle Brittain Clayton was the bondsman in this marriage.

Further, Elizabeth Clayton Loggins was named as a deceased sister in the will of her brother, John Clayton 1774-1864 (also child of Charles Clayton and Nancy Ann Love), whose will was Proven 6 Nov 1865 Will Book A Pgs. 258-260, Barstow Co. GA.
