She married James Massengill when she was 20 and, according to the FindAGrave source, bore his name when she died in 1790. James died in 1784.
The FindAGrave record for their son George at https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/158992529/george-massengill states that the founders of the Massengill Family of Johnston County, Tennessee, settled there about 1790, which would be after the deaths of James and Elizabeth.
Some records show this same woman as having married William Jackson, Sr. in Pitt County, NC, and having borne him a great many children. If the records we have about the Elizabeth Walker who married James Massengill are correct, she bore her last Massengill child in 1760, when she was 40. Unless William Jackson had children by a previous marriage, it's unlikely she bore him all the children ascribed to him in some of the records. However, most records report identical birth, marriage and death data for for both Elizabeths, indicating that either they were one and the same or an error has been perpetuated across many trees.
