Elizabeth Mauzy Murphy was born in 1718 in Stafford County, Virginia. Her parents were Joseph Sumner and Janet Sumner Rowley.

Elizabeth married Peter Mauzy, Sr on February 9, 1735, in Overwharton Parish, Stafford, Virginia, United States. Together they had the following children:
John Mauzy;
Mary Mauzy;
Elizabeth Mauzy;
Michael Mauzy.

Elizabeth married Peter Murphy on February 9, 1752, in Overwharton Parish, Stafford, Virginia.

She died in 1784 in Stafford, Stafford, Virginia, United States.
