About Elizabeth Elizabeth Jane Moffitt

Adam came across to America in 1756, went with his brothers to NC., and eventually settled in the Brush Creek area, right on the Randolph Co./Chatham Co. line. Unlike his brothers, who all became Quakers, Adam became a tub-thumping, foot-washing primitive Baptist. There is a family tradition that he was ostracized by all his other brothers except Charles, who accepted his Baptist ways. (History of Moffitt Family, The Moffettes of Normandy). 13
