The death of the Benj husband of Elizabeth is discussed in Essex Co DB 13: 260-61 of 10 Dec 1709.
1709 DB 13: 260-261 together with his wife Eliz's will
1709/10 DB 13: 273-274 say that Benj had wife Eliz (probably maiden name Thompson), son wm under 18 years of age, dtr mary and probable "dtr in law" step daughter Eliz Catlett, probably dtr of eliz's first husband Wm Catlett. Eliz's will does not mention any other children besides the above three, so probably Wm of beaufort was eliz's son wm or grandson via that son wm. Since she lists no further children in her above will, I'm at a loss how to use the DB 23: 315-319 language, even though it is emphatic, that benj's wife Eliz "was the widdow and Relict of William Moseley deceased by which the death of Mary" [dtr of benj and Eliz] the said land now descends to wm of beaufort co NC. Eliz was only known to marry Wm Catlett and Benj Moseley. 'Relict of Wm Moseley' above could have been a misprint for Relict of Wm Catlett. Any claim of heirship by being a step son of eliz by means of an unknown wm moseley marriage seems farfetched for two reasons
