Elizabeth Paxton was born ca. 1756 of John Paxton and Mary (Blair) Paxton, and died 1831 in Bakers Creek, TN. She married Major Samuel Davidson Houston, 12 February 1781, son of Robert Houston and Mary Davidson. A memorial was erected in her honor at the cemetery in 1942 by the Mary Blount Chapter of the D.A.R., Maryville, Tenn.
