About Elizabeth Plumb
Elizabeth was born in Niagara Falls, Canada on 9 Oct 1828 or 1830. She married Josiah Plumb 31 May 1849. They lived in Albany NY, and some of her children were born there. Elizabeth died 20 Dec 1868 and was buried in the cemetery of St. Mark's Church, Niagara-on-the-Lake. A white marble portrait bust of Elizabeth Street Plumb was created in 1851 by Erastus Dow Palmer[1] The following, about the children of Josiah and Elizabeth, is from canadiana.org: "The eldest, Thomas Street Plumb, took a high standing at Aliol, Oxford and was called to the bar from the Inner Temple, in 1876. He was a member of the law firm of McCarthy, Hoskins & Osler, Toronto.He died early in May 1885, having attained a high reputation in his profession, which promised him its highest honours. The second son, Frederick, was educated at Rugby, and Christ Church, Oxford, and married the youngest daughter of the late Senator Dickson of Niagara. The third son, Duncan, was educated at Rugby and is the manager of the Globe Cattle Company in the Western Territories (probably what is now the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and maybe BC). The eldest daughter is married to Christopher Robinson, Esq. QC, Toronto. The second daughter married to Mr. Charles Rose, Prof. of Modern Languages at Hobart College, NY. His youngest daughter is living at home." Her daughter Mary married Hugh Rose of New York.
