Elizabeth _____2 Mar 1644 Hartford, CT John Kirby. John Kirby & Elizabeth BOOTH?/HINDS? [7] They had known children - Mary, Elizabeth, Hannah, John [twin], Eunice [twin], Esther, Sarah, Joseph, Bethiah, Susannah, Abigail. John Kirby's wife was the niece of Sarah (Hinds) Chaplin, wife of Clement Chaplin of Wethersfield, Middlesex Co, CT. This makes her Elizabeth Hinds or Elizabeth Chaplin. 95 [9]

John Kirby was listed as "Jo Kerbie aged 12 years" on the passenger list of the "Hopewell", which sailed in September of 1635 from London for New England. In 1643 he was registered in Plymouth, Massachusetts as "able to bear arms" and probably married Elizabeth there. They lived in Hartford , CT in 1645 but had moved to nearby Wethersfield soonafter as the town records give the "ear marks" of their cattle in 1647.

In 1653 John and Elizabeth finally settled in Middleton, CT "north of the rivulet" on what is known as Pleasant Street in the present village of Cromwell. The Kirby's homestead included a house, barn, and two and one half acres alog with twenty-four parcels of land, comprising 1068 acres.

After John's death, Elizabeth married Abraham Randall/Randolph of Windsor, CT. She apparently moved to Wethersfield, CT after her second husband's death.
