"Jordan Seaman wrote a short history in 1800 of the Seaman family of Hempstead where he states 'Captain John Seaman married a Strickland, her parentage and first name are not given.

Mary Powell Bunker in "Long Island Genealogies" p 134 states "John Seaman married Elizabeth, daughter of John Strickland, proof for this is not given. "[2]
