BRECKINRIDGE HERALD NEWS OBITUARY – 12/21/1978:

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Sills of Hardinsburg died Friday, Dec. 15, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. The daughter of the late William and Dorothy Mattingly, she was the widow of Joseph C. Sills Sr. She was also preceded in death by a son, J.C. Sills, Jr. She was the mother of Mrs. Beavin (Virginia) Thornsberry Jr. of Hardinsburg and James Randolph Sills of Maysville, Ky., and was the grandmother of Dr. J. G. Sills of Hardinsburg. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Cora Rhodes and Mrs. Bess Sills, both of Hardinsburg; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral was held at 10 A.M. Monday from St. Romuald Catholic Church with the Rev. A.J. Meiring, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Cornelius Fenton, McQuady, and the Rev. James Minch of Axtel. Burial was in the church cemetery directed by Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
