"In the name of God Amen. The tenth day of March, I Elizabeth Simmons being sick in body but of good and perfect memory, thanks be to Almighty God and calling to remembrance the Christian estate of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield unto death when it shall please God to call, do make, constitute, ordain, and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, revoking and annulling all and every testament and testimonial will and wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or writing. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this tenth day of March 1757. (Her mark) Elizabeth Simmons (seal)

Item - I give choice to my beloved son Jonathan Simmons of my two negroes Seneca and Jack. Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved son Jonathan Simmons one half of my sheep. Likewise I give and bequeath half of my cattle to my son Jonathan. Item - I give unto my beloved son Richard Simmons the other half of my sheep and cattle. Item - I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Rebecca Mahaffey one cow and calf. Item - I desire that all my moveable estate may be equally divided between my two sons Jonathan and Richard, excepted my bed, one chest and a pail. Item - I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Mary Higgins, five shillings current money and no more. Item - I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Amy Holland the one of the two negroes Seneca or Jack after my son Jonathan hath taken his choice. Item- I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Sarah Pierpoint one negro boy named Ben. Item - I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughters Amy Holland and Sarah Pierpoint all my wearing clothes to be equally divided between them. Item - I give and bequeath unto my grandson Jonathan Simmons, son of Jonathan, one negro boy named Charles and my new chest and one three gallon iron pail. The will was proved 23 November 1757.

Prince Georges County on the 23rd Nov, 1757, came into this office [names cannot be read from copy]. Witnesses to the above testament made oath to the holy Evangelists of Almighty God that they did see the deceased sign, seal, publish and declare this instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and that at the time of his so doing that he was in perfect health and she seemed to them of sound mind and disposing memory and at her desire & request they signed the same. Sworn before George Scott, Prince Georges County. "
