Elizabeth Reed was born shortly before Christmas Day in 1681 in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, New England. She was her parents' fourth child, of eight total. Her parents were Israel Reed (aka Reade) and his wife, Mary (Kendall) Reed (m. 1669).[1]
On January 1, 1706, Elizabeth Reed married a neighbor's son, Richard Snow, son of Samuel Snow and his first wife, Sarah (Wilson) Snow. Both families were at least second generation settlers in Woburn, Massachusetts, their forebears having emigrated from England in the 17th Century.
Richard & Elizabeth Snow had 3 sons, but the eldest died as an infant:
- Joshua Snow b: 13 OCT 1707 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts; died as an infant
- Richard Snow (Jr.) b: 5 JUN 1709 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts
- Joshua Snow (2nd of same name) b: 16 JAN 1711 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts
Unfortunately, Richard Snow died at his home in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts, in November 1711. He was only 27 years old. Elizabeth (Reed) Snow remarried about 7 years later to a John Gould in Woburn, Massachusetts. He was NOT John Gould on WikiTree. They apparently had no children together.[2]
The date of Elizabeth's death is not absolutely certain but most sources say she died in Woburn, Massachusetts, in May 1776
