2.  Elizabeth Bowles (John1); baptized 3 Feb 1650/51 at Roxbury, MA; m. Lt. John White, son of John White and Frances; d. 7 Jan 1700 at age 48.

Ca 1666/7 Elizabeth married Lieut. John White (2941) , son of John White (1188) (-15 Apr 1691) & Frances Jackson (7 Nov 1619-26 Feb 1695/6). Born ca 1642 in Watertown, MA. John died on 28 Mar 1695 in Roxbury, MA.74 Buried in Eliot Burying Ground, Roxbury. Lot: B204.

John, freeman 1677, lived perhaps several years before at Muddy river, now Brookline.

Johns’s lands, which must have been extensive and valuable, are described as lying in Dorchester and Brookline, together with rights in Stoughton to lands laid oout to Ebenezer Clap, Desire Clap, Hopstill Clap, and Roger Clap of Dorchester. Certain of the White heirs sold rights in the Clap land to Ebenezer Clap of Dorchester on 10 Apr 1727.50

It appears from Suffolk Deeds 39.229 that the children of John White were, on 28 Apr 1726:

  2.     Sarah, deceased, wife of John Winchester, yeoman, of Brookline, leaving children;
  3.     Hannah, wife to William Payne, joiner, of Boston, deceased, leaving children;
  4.     Mary, wife to James Tilestone, housewright, of Boston;
  5.     Elizabeth, wife to Edmund Weld, yeoman, of Roxbury, deceased, leaving children;
  6.     Frances, wife to John Bowles of Roxbury, gentleman;
  7.     Isaac White, shipwright, of Boston;
  8.     Joseph White, housewright, of Boston; and
  9.     Abigail, wife of William Sharp, yeoman, of Pomfret, CT.
