ELIZABETH St JOHN b 1605 d 1677 She m Aug 6 1629 as his second wife Rev Samuel Whiting b 1597 at Boston Lincolnshire They came to New England in 1636 and settled at Lynn Mass.

Lynn parishioner Obadiah Turner wrote in his diary that "Elizabeth was a godlie woman and did much to cheer and help her husband.  By her learning she was able to give much instruction to the damsels of the parish, and they did all love her as she was a tender mother."

Elizabeth St John married Rev. Samuel Whiting on 6 August 1629 in St. Botolph's Church, Boston, Lincolnshire. She was a daughter of Sir Oliver St John, MP of Caysoe, Bedfordshire, and his wife Sarah Bulkeley.

Elizabeth was a great granddaughter of Oliver St John, Baron of Beauchamp, who was created the first Lord St John of Bletsoe after his third cousin Elizabeth Tudor ascended the throne as Queen Elizabeth I. Elizabeth St John was a descendant of Margaret Beauchamps, the grandmother of King Henry VII.

Samuel and Elizabeth Whiting had four children who lived to adulthood: Samuel Whiting (1633 - 1713) John Whiting (1637 - 1689) Joseph Whiting (1641 - 1723) Elizabeth Whiting Hobart (1645 - 1733)
