About Elizabeth Willoughby

Elizabeth Locke Born: 1590 England Died: 15/Sep/1662 Charleston, Middlesex, MA

HUSBAND William Willoughby

CHILDREN Francis Willoughby

From Family Histories and Genealogies by Salisbury, 1892

"Mrs. Willoughby continued to reside for a while in Portsmouth, but after the Restoration was living in London, whence, we have every reason to believe, she accompanied her son Francis to New England in the summer of 1662. On the Charleston Records there is an entry of '______Willoughby died 15 Sept. 1662,' which undoubtedly refers to that lady in question. Her Will, dated 'London, May 1662,' was identified by her son Mr. Francis Willoughby at Charlestown, who, being sworn, '23; 12mo: 1662' (23 February, 1662-63), 'do say that he found this instrument in the box of abovesaid Mrs. Eliz. Willoughby his mother, and too ye same thence after he decease, and that according to his best knowledge ye subscripccon of her name It is wrote by how owne Hand, and ye He knows of no after will.'
