Elizabeth Holmes was born February 18, 1751, the daughter of Peleg Holmes and Abigail Bradford of Kingston, Plymouth, Massachusetts[1] [2] [3]

In 1762, she moved to Yarmouth Nova Scotia with her family[2] [3] [4]

On August 5, 1779, in Tisbury, she married James Winslow[5] [3]. He was the widower of Rhoda Chase, and son of James and Susan (Conant) Winslow of Middleborough[2]. Their children included[2] [6]:

Abigail Bradford, born 17 April, 1780[2] James, who died September 1795[2] Newell, who died September 1795[2] Polly, who died September 1795[2] Zebulon, who died September 1795[2] George, born circa 1797[2] Elizabeth, born October 21, 1801[2] James Winslow died Aug. 26, 1805, in 73d year[6]
