Deacon Elizur Wright, Sr. (I)

Not the same as Elizur Wright, of Canaan

Elizur, son of Nathaniel (died 1727?), moved ca. 1740 when is father's estate was settled, to South Canaan, Ct in the far northwest of the state/colony and died there in 1787. His grave is in the Falls Village cemetery in S.Canaan along with his second wife, Hannah (Dix?) Boardman and some of her children by an earlier marriage. Their son, Elizur II (1762-1845),(Yale 1781) moved to the "western reserve" (of CT) in Tallmadge, Ohio in 1810. Elizur III (1804-85) (Yale 1824), the aboliltionist and life insurance reformer, returned East and lived his last years in Medford, Mass.
