Ella M. Spilker, 94, of Sycamore Health Care Center, formerly of 1112 South 9th, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday (December 15, 2008) in Sycamore Health Care Center.
Born July 20, 1914 in Quincy, Ella was the daughter of Harry and Anna Young Spilker.
Ella was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, the Salem Women's Guild and taught Sunday School for many years. She was an avid reader.
Ella worked for Lagomarcino Grupe as a secretary for many years and later for Irwin Paper Company until her retirement.
Survivors include three nieces, Carole Glosemeyer and her husband Tom of Quincy, Pearl Simpson and her husband Rollie of , MO and Marjorie Spilker of Quincy; two nephews, Ronald Spilker and his wife Joy of Quincy and Robert Spilker of Oregon; several great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold Spilker and Alfred Spilker; two sisters in law, Millie Spilker and Dorothy Spilker; and one nephew, Kenneth Spilker.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Chaplain Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 12:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Salem Church.
