About Ellen Brocklehurst
I know that Grandmother Ellen married James Robertson 20 June 1837 in Tradeston (Glasgow), Gorbal, Lararkshire, Scotland by Reverend McTurner and that she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints on 03 May 1867 after being converted to the Church by Jacob Gibson III (1814-1882) while he served his LDS Mission in Scotland. She and her children came to Utah in 1868, first taking the ship "Emerald Isle", next traveling by train to Benton, Wyoming and then traveling the remainder of the way with the John C. Holman Wagon Company. For more information see: Find A Grave (also named "Brocklehurst" on her headstone); Book of the Generations of Jacob Gibson 1814-1882 and Pioneer Overland Travel - Church History Library, Salt Lake City, Utah.
