WHITEVILLE - Mrs. Ellen F. Hinson, 90, of Brunswick, formerly of Whiteville, died Friday in Columbus County Hospital
She was born in Whiteville, the daughter of the late K.P. and Amanda Thompson Stephens. She was the widow of the late L.A Hinson Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Peacock's Chapel in the Pines by the Rev. Bennie E. Pledger and Rev. Walter Clegg. Interment will be in the Mears Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons. L.A. Hinson Jr. and Eston Hinson of Whiteville; six daughters, Mary Cawley of Cooperstown, N.Y., Pauline Russ of Bolton, Margaret McDaniel of Dillon S.C., Dorothy H. William of Brunswick, Lela Travis of Dillon, S.C., and Catherine Bennett of Lumberton; two sisters Blanche Inman of Cerro Gordo and Forrest Thompson of Whiteville; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as active and honorary pallbearers.
