Elliott Knesek was the second and youngest child born August 23, 1937, to Alvina and Edwin Knesek. Elliott’s older sister Nola Knesek was already 10 years old at the time of Elliott’s birth.
After graduating high school in May 1955, Elliott enlisted in the Navy to fulfill the mandatory two-year enlistment requirement. During his enlistment, Elliott studied aviation and then began a career as Air Traffic Controller at El Paso International Airport.
Elliott met and married his wife Carole Buffone Knesek on January 4, 1963, at Fort Bliss Chapel in El Paso Texas and, soon thereafter, started a family with 3 children. After a brief time as Air Traffic Controller, Elliott earned his Master’s degree and began a short career teaching in Weimer, Texas.
A few years later, Elliott and family relocated to South and Central Texas where they developed and sold a property in Meyersville, Texas and then finally developed and built a property in San Marcos, Texas where husband and wife retired. In November 2004, Carole Knesek passed after a two-year battle with cancer, and Elliott spent time with friend and family caretakers until his final transition to Assisted Living in San Marcos in January 2017.
Elliott Knesek passed on December 4, 2022, after complications due to pneumonia. Elliott is survived by his sister and family, brother-in-law, and three children.
