Is our Ellis "Bud" Jones the same one that was married to Henrietta? Henrietta, who later married Matthew Walton James, gave testimony that is included in her Dawes application (3903) file: That on 10/20/1904 she was 22 years old. That in 1897 she married Bud Jones. That 8/31/1897 Bud Jones obtained a divorce from her in Choctaw Courts. That in 1901 she married Joe Johnson, a white man, and that he quit her and she divorced him in the U.S. Courts in 1901. That she married Walton James 10/20/1901.

The informant on the death certificate is Bennie Jones, Anadarko, OK. It has place of birth for Ellis as Benting, OK. I believe it is meant to be Bennington. For mothers name it just has Melinda.

I am changing the date of birth from 8/20/1879 that is on the death certificate to 5/20/1880 to match the WWI draft card

I have been told that no grave marker exists for Ellis Jones at Memory Lane Cemetery. I just recently received an email that the marker had been found.
