About Elmer Ellsworth Blood
Saturday, 1/9/1943 Ogdensburg, NY Journal Elmer E. Blood, one of the oldest members of the Masons in this county, died at his home in Waverly St., Potsdam, Thursday. He suffered a stroke in January 1943, and had been ill since. Funeral services will be held at the Masonic Temple in Potsdam at. 2:30 Sunday, with full Masonic rites, In recent years Mr. Blood had been caretaker at the Potsdam Masonic Temple.
Mr. Blood was born in Potsdam and was married in August 1890, to Miss Maude Stacey who died Feb 12, 1939. He had been a member of the Racket River Lodge, F. and A.M. for 56 years, receiving his 50-year medal six years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Merrill, Potsdam; Mrs. Hugh (Lefe) Gooshaw, Norfolk; two sons, Lee Blood of Ogdensburg and Amos Blood of Potsdam;, and four grandchildren, two of whom are in the Army Air Forces and two are in the Army.
