Elsa taught, along with her sisters Klara (sometimes Clara) and Sophie, at the Schwarzwaldschule in Vienna. Her most famous student was Anna Freud with whom she maintained a lifelong friendship. Business management consultant Peter Drucker was also her student and mentions her at length in his book, "Adventures of a Bystander (New York: Harper & Row, 1978).
