Else Thott til Alnarp was first married to Claus Krummedige and secondly to Thomas Nilsson (Lange). She held Sunds herred as security for lones (Pantelen) and was granted Krarup and Rynkeby for life. Her son, Karl Lange, paid it off after her death and kept it for life. She (d. 1550).

Conventional wisdom is that she married both Claus Krummedige and Thomes Lange. However, when one examines the dates more carefully, particularly the birth dates of her children in both marriages, some difficulty becomes apparent. The data begins to suggest that there might be two Else Pedersdatters, one born about 1440 (who married Clause Krummedige) and another born about 1470-80 (who married Thomes Lange.

If this is true, then the question arises, who are the proper parents? It seems reasonable that the parents of the Else born in 1470-80 are Peder Nielsen Thott and Ide Corfitzdatter Ronnow. That leaves open the question of who might be the parents of the Else born about 1440. Was she even a Thott?
