Laura lived on fourth street in Royal Oak, MI in the fifties Before that she lived on Avon Road in Rochester. She was a seventh day adventist. She worked at the Detroit Arsenal. As my maternal grandmother she would take my sister and me on weekends. We would have to attend sabbath school on Saturdays. She would take us to to the Detroit Zoo or Belle Isle. On Saturday nights we would walk into downtown Royal Oak and have hot fudge sundaes at Saunders. On Sunday mornings she would take us to a Greenfields restaurant for a buffet. When she was dying of cancer, she lived with us in our home in Marshall, and my mom cared for her. She was a neat lady.
