ELVA MAE LUNDIN was born May 18, 1871 in Iowa and died May 7, 1927. On Apil 9, 1893 at Ollie, Iowa she married Robert H. Bottger, born Sept. 23, 1869, son of John C. Bottger and Hannah Shy, and died Jan. 18, 1937. The 1910 census shows them living in Cashmere, Chelan County, Washington. Elva’s father Oliver, 83 years old and recently widowed, is living with them. Elva, Robert and Elva’s parents are buried in Highland Cemetery, Richland, Keokuk County, Iowa.

1. Marvel Bottger was born ca. 1892. She married Fred McGee. They lived in Emmit, Idaho. They were the parents of one male child.
2. Irene Bottger was born ca. 1895. She married (1) Dallas “Buzz” Clossen who served in the US Army Rainbow Division during World War I. She married (2) “Shany” Price. “Shany” Price was in the theatre or motion picture business in Ottumba, Iowa. There were no children in this second marriage.

3. Freida Bottger was born ca. 1900. She married (1) George Dolly, (2) name unknown. After Freida and George divorced, she remarried. She and her husband live in Illinois where he owns a Ford agency.
4. Gilbert Bottger was born 1905 in Ollie, Keokuk, Iowa. Gilbert married Ruth Bragg, the daughter of Kenneth Bragg. They were the parents of two sons.
Gilbert received his degree from Iowa Wesleyan College at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He taught at the University of Arizona before he retired. He and Ruth lived in San Diego, California in 1991. He is in “Who’s Who of America” for his research with the boll weevil and its relation to the cotton industry. (Research in Richland, Keokuk, Iowa from library records and local residents who remembered the family)
