Elvira Bailey (Andrew)

Elvira and her mother moved to Pennsylvania, joining their father there after the Civil War (he left Canada to fight for the Union). They then moved to Kansas, where she spent her childhood. She trained as a teacher and married Albert C. Bailey. A book of her folksy poems was put together in 1960 by two of her grand-daughters, Jean Ann Luckhardt & Beatrice Ruth O'Neal. She and Albert eventually settled in California.
