At the age of fifteen she married her first husband, and after his death married Colonel TT Tyree, a cotton broker at Mobile. She outlived her first husband fifty-eight years and also her second husband. She had eleven brothers and sisters, four children, and many nephews and nieces, and outlived them all except two nieces, dying at the age of eighty-nine.
