The 1809 (census) list of Jews in Gailingen shows Joseph and Pessle Weil had two sons living at home. Veit, abt 25 years and a 16 year old "Marx". Joseph's two eldest sons, Salomon and Marx Joseph (Mahrum) were listed as heads of house/husbands in separate households in that census as well as father/husbands in the Memor Buch family listings. Because other personal records for this 16 yr. old show the names Emanuel, Emanuel Joseph, Manus, or Manus Josel, it is assumed that Emanuel is that 16 year old son of Joseph.
