Emma "Peggy" Gregory passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 10. She was born in Westville, Oklahoma, one of seven children of Orlando and Emma Veazey.

After graduation from business college in Tulsa, she moved to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI during World War II. There she met her husband who also came from Oklahoma. After the war, they moved to Midwest City. Over the following years, she was a wife, a mother, a short term receptionist for a dentist, and a dedicated, active member of the First Baptist Church of Midwest City. At that church she was respected for her wisdom and service. In her later life, she faithfully volunteered at the Midwest City Regional Hospital, now Alliance Health Center, until the time of her death.

Emma was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Charles Lloyd Gregory, and her eldest son, Charles "Charley" Stanley Gregory.

She is survived by her sister, Irma V. Powers, her son, Russell I. Gregory (Cathy), her daughter Jane G. Caputo (Carmen), daughter-in-law, Brenda Gregory (Charley), seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Her life continues in theirs and all the people fortunate to know her. Emma's Christian purpose, her humor, her stories and her zest was contagious.

The funeral service will be Thursday, June 15 at First Baptist Church, Midwest City, at 10 AM. Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
