Emma Witcombe Kidson came from Bathurst. She was the first wife of Henry the Hunter and was 15 when she married Henry who was 18. Her older sister was married to Henry's older brother, Thomas Jnr.

After her death, Henry married Elizabeth Hope Upton on 6/6/1857 - she had no children.

His 3rd wife was Mary Anne Maloney who had a son Henry Albert Rorke Hartley born 21/11/1861
