Emma Jane Stiles

Jane immigrated to Australia with her husband, Samuel, and six children aboard the "Great Queensland" in 1875. They came through the port of Maryborough, Queensland, and shortly after moved up to Bundaberg where they settled on a property on the southern side of Woondooma Street, between Targo and Barolin Streets.

Jane is said to have died from a fall while cleaning the house.

In the birth entry for son Walter George, her name is given as Jane HOWELL, but it is not known whether this was in fact her maiden name or simply an error. On her marriage to Samuel, her name was given as Jane STILES.
