Enoch Srigley

He is recorded as paying taxes in Bucks County, PA in 1776. His parents are unknown but conjecture points to John Shrigley, who lived in Bucks County, PA in the 1740's.

He and Mary Skelton, from an old and devout Quaker family, were married by a Justice of the Peace in 1775. Very little of their activities are recorded in the Buckingham Quaker monthly meeting records.

He was living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1788 when he petitioned for land in Pelham Township, Niagra district, and moved his family to Canada. He moved with his wife, Mary Skelton, and 6 children in 1788.

His son, Robert Srigley (who changed spelling of name), eventually moved to York county and bought land which is now in the town of Newmarket.
