LifeSketch: Enos was the second of ten children born to Ebenezer and Dorothy (Rose) Seward. His siblings: Joel, John, Ebenezer, Damaris, Noadiah, Dorothy, Mary, Ebenezer and Sarah.

On October 31, 1765, Enos married Sarah Goss, daughter of Philip Goss IV and Mary Kendall at Granville, Massachusetts. They were the parents of 10 children: Enos Jr., Eli, Amos, Gad, David, Levi, Sarah, Titus, Mary and Ebenezer.

Enos' Revolutionary war service:
• Private; Capt. Wm Cooley's co., Col. John Mosley's regt., marched under Lt. Col. Timothy Robinson to reinforce Northern army, Oct. 21-30, 1776
• Sergeant; Capt. Aaron Coe's co., Lt. Col. Timothy Robinson's detachment at Ticonderoga, Dec. 25, 1776 to March 25, 1777

• Capt. Solomon Brown's co., Col. Elisha Porter's regt. July 31 to Sep. 1, 1779 at New London, CT

At one point, and at the request of his sister-in-law Mary (Goss) Davidson, Enos assumed guardianship of his niece [Mary Davidson] after her father was killed in the Wyoming Valley in 1778.

The 1790 census shows the family in Granville, Massachusetts with 3 males under 16, 3 males over 16 and 3 females in the household.

The Huntington, Pennsylvania tax list of 1796 lists Enos along with sons Amos, Eli, Enos Jr and Gad. He is listed again in 1798, taxed on 83 acres; and in 1799 he purchased an additional 106 acres.

The 1800 Pennsylvania Septennial census [line 91] shows Enos still living in Huntington township. His sons Gad, Enos Jr and Eli are living nearby.
