Ephraim Cutler was Washington Co., Ohio's delegate to the Ohio Statehood Constitutional Convention. His contribution at the convention was the introduction to the section of the constitution excluding slavery in the state of Ohio. He helped establish the Underground Railroad by working with the Quakers and his other antislavery connections. His home was a station, located on the north bank of the Ohio, 6 miles below Marietta, Ohio and became a model for all other stations on the Underground Railroad.
