Obituary The Harveyville Kansas Moniter Ephraim Parmiter Harveyville's Oldest Citizen Passed away at his Son's in Wichita, May 14th. Ephraim Parmiter was born in Augusta Maine April,29,1812 and died at the home of his son, Will in Wichita, Kans. May 14th,1910. In an early day his father emigrated to Ohio, and located in Morgan County, where the deceased lived untill 1866. October 5th 1837 he married to Elizabeth Head, who died June 18, 1843, to this union three children were born; John O. James H., Dennish, the later died in infancy. February 5, 1846 he married to Eliza Musgrove, who died Oct. 10th, 1908, to this union were born six children: Lizzie A.Reed, William F. George E., Caleb who died in infancy, Martha Roush and Allie Coulter. In 1866 he moved from Morgan county to Jackson County Ohio, where he lived till 1870, when they moved to Kansas, and located on Soldier Creek in Osage County, five miles west of Burlingame. He has been a highly respected resident of Harveyville for a number of years. Grandpa Parminter, as he was familiary known, was a faithfull member of the Church of Christ for seventy nine years. He was Harveyville's oldest citizen being 98 years and 15 days. He left Harveyville about a month ago to visit his children and while at Wicita visiting his son Will he fell and hurt his arm which caused blood poison and resulted in his death. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 0ne p.m. at the Church of Christ conducted by Rev. H.E. Moore of Wichita, a large crowd gathered to pay their last respect to the honored citizen, the entire sympathy of the whole community is extended to the begreaved relatives. Interments were made in the Harveyville Cemetery.
