Ephraim Plummer was born in Newbury . When young he assisted his father in carrying on the ferry, and probably because his father needed his assistance he obtained permission for him to be free from impressment into the service of the colonies in the struggle against the Indians in 1676. He lived in Newbury on his grandfather Francis Plummer's homestead, and carried on the farm.
The only offices he held were those of tithingman and fence viewer, the former in 1694 and 1700, and the latter in 1695.
The records show but one real estate transaction to which Mr. Plummer was a party. This was a conveyance of about twelve acres of land to his brother-in-law Stephen Jaques Jan 28, 1694/1695.
Mr. Plummer married Hannah, daughter of Henry and Anne (Knight) Jaques of Newbury . His sister Ruth married his wife's brother Richard Jaques on the same day.
Mr. Plummer died in Newbury Aug 13, 1715 at the age of sixty.

This may signify that I Ephraim Plummer of nubery in the county of Esex in new england: for divers Considerations mee thereunto mooving: do make this my Last will & testament: first I give & bequeath my Sould into the hands of my Blessed Savior:
