1829 Will for Ephriam Pearce - Filed in Ralls County Missouri, 1830 Quincy August 26, 1829 The written instrument is probated by Earl Pierce Mr Earl Pearce Quincy County Quincy Illinois On the 1st day of ______ I promise to commence making of brick for Charles C. Trabue(?) and to continue after all suitable weather, untill there is eighty thousand made and, there to let and burn them. Said Trabue is to furnish hands to (dig) the dirt make the morter, bring it to the table and __ off -- , and also to cut the wood and hall it and to _-- in burning. Also to find Bord to cover, the brick and my bord while employed in making his brick. Pierce is to find the males and ______ all the other tooles. as E. Pearce only owes me fifty dollars or fifthy thousand bricks - which is hereby assured to Mr. J. Barnett without recourse on me in any event. Jauanry 10l 1827 - C. C. August 22, 1829 Mr. Earl Pearce, Dr. Sir, I find my husbands possession a note against your for $67 dollars credited by ten dollars, due the 18th of 1829 in discharge of a debt due my husband Ephriam Pearce - I want you to pay to Mr. John Barnett, Thirty dollars and give a new note for the balance if it be not conenient to pay it all and Mr. Branett will give you up the note and this letter will be a receipt to your on my part for the same - wishing you and your family health and prosperity.
