Erik Huseth, 94, died Sunday, Jan 23 (1949). The son of Erik and Julia Huset, he was born May 30, 1854 in Valder, Norway. He came to the United States with his father, when he was 14 years old. His mother, one brother and four sisters joined them a year later at Mt. Horeb.

In 1874 the family came to Barron county. He was married Oct 6, 1885 to Olia Amundson and they were the parents of nine children. Mrs Huset and three children preceded him in death. On May 18, 1907 he was married to Bertha Iverson, who died Jan 6, 1949. They were the parents of four children.

Surviving are six sons, Edwin of Barron, Conrad and Oscar of Dallas, Roy of Chetek, Melvin of Hillsdale and Carlton of Bloomer, four daughters, Mrs Carl Acker and Mrs Harvey Knowlton of Barron, Mrs Carl Hughes of Arland and Mrs Ed Jankowsky of Stevens Point; a daughter-in-law; Mrs Clara Huset of Spooner and many nieces and nephews.

Mr Huset was a member of the Nye Scandinavia Church until the Dallas congregation was organized.

Funeral services were held Jan 26 in the Dallas Lutheran Church, with internment in the Dallas cemetery. The six sons were pallbearers. Rev Hj. S. Froiland officiated. Mrs Fillmore sang, accompanied by Mrs Una Bonkrud.

Mr Huset's death marks the passing of another of Barron county's pioneers. He was the last of his generation of the Huset family.

Erik Huset was born on May 30, 1854 in Valders, Norway to Erik Huset and Julia Knutson. He died at 11:15 p.m. on January 23, 1949 at his residence in Dallas of bronchial pneumonia (1 day duration) due to auricular fibrillation which he had suffered from for 5 years. He was a widowed retired farmer. Dr. G. H. Fostvedt of Barron attended the patient from October 30, 1948 until his death on January 23, 1949. Conrad Huset was informant to his death. Erik Huset was buried in the Dallas Cemetery on January 26, 1949.
