Backman (1995) references sources from c. 1708 where Erik describes himself as a "poor farmhand" [...] "who does not have the force to serve" and assessed as "due to certain circumstances, he cannot himself" [...] "dispose of his inheritance". Enrolls himself into Västerås hospital 1709. Dies before 1720. It's possible that he was married to a Elisabet Hjort according to sources referenced in the Backman-material. Kept the patronymicon his whole life.
