About Rev. Erik Myrgren
Erik Myrgren, born January 2, 1914 in Njutånger in Hälsingland, died October 20, 1996 in Hörby, was a Swedish priest.
Erik Myrgren worked during World War II as a chaplain in Stettin in what was then Germany. The city was razed by aerial bombing at the end of 1944 and the service ended therewith. In his journey journey home, he was took over the position as pastor at the Swedish Victoria congregation in Berlin, after pastor Erik Perwe passed away. He continued the work of his two representatives, Birger Forell and Erik Perwe, in rescuing Jews and non-Jews from persecution by the Nazi regime.
Erik Myrgren was awarded the Israeli award Righteous Among the Nations in 1987 .
