FINNI, Erkki - Passed away peacefully at Aurora Resthaven on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in his 86th year. Cherished husband of Irja. Beloved father of Henry and his wife Mary, Allan, and Nancy and her husband Bret. Very proud Papa of Julie and her husband David, Cher, Shawn and Samantha. Loved Great Papa of Hunter, Morgan and Isabel. Survived by his brother Esa and his wife Ava, and his sister, Kaisu. Erkki was born on October 16th, 1922 in Kauhava, Finland. Veteran soldier of the Finnish Armed Forces defending Finland during war of 1939-1945. Immigrated to Canada in 1951. Dedicated 57year member of the Carpenters' Union Local 27. A lifelong builder, Erkki built his home, cottage and farm. He was a tireless worker and an accomplished dancer. Friends may call at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street, South, Newmarket on Friday, April 4th from 1-2 p.m. with funeral to follow immediately thereafter.
