The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Farrier Ernest Veuve, United States Army, for gallant manner in which he faced a desperate Indian on 3 November 1874, while serving with Company A, 4th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Staked Plains, Texas.
