Ernst Christian Haserick (1818 - 1899)

Ernst Christian HASERICK was born in Altenburg, then the capital of the Duchy Saxe-Altenburg (today in Thuringia, Germany),
to his father Daniel Gottlob HASERICK, Kunst-, Waid- und Schoenfaerbermeister (Altenburg 1767-1841) [a dyer for fine textiles and making prints, working with dyer's woad (Isatis tinctoria), now replaced by indigo]
and his mother Christiane Juliane BROMME (Altenburg 1790-1866).
He was baptized on 05 NOV 1818 in Altenburg.
On 12 JUL 1848 he arrived at the port of New York, emigrating on board the ship "Corsair" from Bremen, Germany, aged 29, profession: dyer.
On 02 OCT 1850 he married Catherine/ Katherine STORY in Danvers, County Essex, Massachusetts.
On 08 MAR 1854 he was naturalized in Gilford, Belknap County, New Hampshire, living at Meredith, Belknap County, New Hampshire.
In 1860, a historic map of the Belknap County shows his house / estate.
The US Census 1880 lists his family in "District A", Gilford.
His death record gives Laconia, Belknap County, as his place of death. He died aged 81 years and 24 days old on 24 NOV 1899. Cause of death: Epilepsy
The US Census 1890 lists his widowed wife with their son Victor Ernest HASERICK's family in Laconia [his only surviving child].
