SPARTANBURG - Esther Lou Lewis Cole, of 332 Connecticut Avenue, died Monday, February 23, 2004, at her home. A native of Marion County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Odell and Loula Derham Lewis.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Contract Bridge Club, and a 1947 graduate of Limestone College.

Survivors include her husband, Claude Bud Cole, Jr. of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, the Honorable Joseph Derham Cole and Candace Carlson Cole, and Lewis Buchanan Cole and Georgia Treen Cole, all of Spartanburg; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Crowley Cole of Spartanburg; a sister, Jean Lewis Bane of Mullins, SC; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Claude Buddy Cole, III.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at Trinity United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Paul W. Harmon and the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher.
