About Esther Jennings

Esther Rice Jennings BIRTH 26 Jan 1701, Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA DEATH 10 Nov 1746 (aged 45), Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA BURIAL Old Indian Cemetery, West Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA, MEMORIAL ID 69301437, Photos by Pam Johnson

Esther is the daughter of Jacob Rice and Mary Barrett. She married Jonathan Jennings on 17 Jul 1727 in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts. They had about five children but it seems that only two made it through to adulthood, and the two are not certain as to their names or gender. Jonathan was the son of Stephen Jennings and Hannah (Dickinson)Gillet.

In my grandmother's notes, Jonathan and Esther are buried in the Old Indian Cemetery in Brookfield, but all the stones are worn smooth.

CHILDREN: From Pam: 1. Moses Jennings, 1737 - Apr 1819 2. Thankful. These 2 children were named in their Grandmother Rice's Will. It is believed there were 4-5 other children but the names had been torn off.

From Lawrence: Children listed as being of this family with only Moses and Thankful surviving are as follows, not sure of the dates for which child:(*) 1. Hannah Jennings-Abt 1727/28-/Reuban Lilly * 2. Moses Jennings-23 May 1729-Apr 1819 3. Benjamin Jennings-(11 Aug 1733-20 Dec 1739 * 4. Sarah Jennings-(9 Oct 1737-27 Apr 1742 * 5.
