LITTLE PRAIRIE (SPECIAL)--Funeral services for Ethel J. Ennis, who passed away Friday Dec. 24, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Holy Cross Episcopal church in Dundas. Special music was rendered by the Little Prairie quartette, accompanied by Mrs. Adam Aldorfer, and Miss Beverly Code sang a solo. Interment was at the Groveland cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Glenn and John Ennis of Faribault, Cecil and Almyer Code, Roland Hoover, and Floyd Stowe of Little Prairie. Miss Ennis, the daughter of the late Jane and Israel Ennis was born April 18, 1885 at Little Prairie. She attended the Little Prairie and Dundas schools and was graduated from the Northfield High School. Miss Ennis chose teaching for a profession and spent the next twenty years in that capacity in the various schools in the surrounding community. Later she made her home with her brother Eldon in Little Prairie, then with her sister, Mrs. Annie Code, and after Mrs. Code's death in 1942, she came to Northfield to the home of another sister, Mrs. Catherine (Stephanson) Peterson. The past five years she has been cared for at the Hanson and Lindesmith Rest homes. She was confirmed August 17, 1939 by Bishop Keeler and was a member of the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour at Faribault. Surviving are two sisters Mrs. Frank Stowe (Minnie) of Little Prairie and Mrs. Paul Peterson (Catherine) of Northfield, and two brothers, Eldon Ennis of Little Prairie and Alymer Ennis of Granville, North Dakota and also a number of nieces and nephews. Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death, Mrs. John E. Code (Anna) and Mrs. Roy Hoover (Orpha) of Little Prairie, Mrs. Oscar Nelson (Lulu) of Santa Monica, California, and Wilson Ennis of Faribault.
