The following was taken form the Jan. 10, 1968 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:
Mrs. Edith Sampson died Monday in Scotland Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in Pembroke Church of God by the Rev. Jack Hunt, the Rev. James Leggett and the Rev. Millard Maynor. Burial will be in Deep Branch Church Cemetery.
Surviving are her sons, James A. Sampson of Charleston, S. C. and Allister Sampson of Pembroke; her daughters, Mrs. Hyford Smith of Pembroke, Mrs. Leonard Williams of Westland, Mich., and Miss Hilda Fay Sampson of the home; her brothers, Bazie Hardin and Dave Hardin of Pembroke her sisters, Mrs. Christopher Allen of Fayetteville and Mrs. Hartman Chavis of Anderson, S.C.
