BETTER BABY CONTEST The Better Babies contest was a wonderful success

MINOR EVENTS IN REGARD TO PEOPLE their babies occupied a reserved section in the stand. Judging from the size of the crowd the fathers, the grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles must also have been present for the stand was nearly filled. The Winters Band was stationed in the stand and rendered some very nice concert music. Previous to announcing the winners, Dr. Pitts of Sacramento gave a brief talk on the care of children. Dean Van Norman of the University Farm also addressed a few remarks that were well worth remembering. Sec. Maddox was then called upon to read the list of winners. The babies were divided into three classes and the results with points scored by each were as follows:
